In the middle of the beach restaurants and bars in an oasis nestled along Gulf Boulevard is Café de Paris; offering a marvel of French pastries, cakes, breads, sweets, great espresso, coffees and now, crepes, sandwiches, and quiches, all served in a little bit of Paris.
My friend Xavier is a master baker, and his lovely wife Valerie together with their son Luigi are the hard working impresarios who give you this piece of France. Hailing from the village overlooking the Dordogne River, well known home to famed Josephine Baker at Chateaux des Milandes, and my friend Jean-Claude Baker her adopted son, another great impresario holding court at Chez Josephine a New York City restaurant dedicated to her memory (see our New York restaurants listing).
Café de Paris is a cozy oasis for a great coffee, great French pastry, light bite or just some French nostalgia.
The good news is that all the traditional French pastries, breads, sweets and specialty cakes, plus those ‘to order’ including a traditional French wedding cake (a marvel to behold), and adapting to Florida; there’s even a key lime pie and key lime tart, all worth the calories.
Special orders, seasonal treats and catering are all welcomed.
