1 lb potatoes/peeled and cut into chunks
2 cups shredded green cabbage
1 carrot/grated
1 medium onion minced
1 tbsp of mustard
½ shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
1 beaten egg
½ teaspoon ground thyme
Freshly ground black pepper
Salt to taste
½ cup flour
Option:
1 tbsp caraway seeds
Sour cream for garnish
Yields 6-8 patties
Cook potatoes and mash. Cook cabbage and carrots together until tender... Then add drained mixture into mashed potatoes and also onion, mustard, cheddar cheese, egg, thyme and pepper..... Mix all together well...
Shape into 4" to 5" patties.. Drudge with flour....
Fry in pan with oil of your choice... 4 to 6 minutes on each side...
