1 loaf whole grain bread (a couple of days old*), cut into cubes
¼ cup butter
¼ cup Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 sticks celery, diced
1 large onion, chopped
3 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
½ teaspoon sage
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ tablespoon garlic powder
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly grated pepper
1½ cups low sodium chicken broth (more, if needed)
½ cup raisins
*Can put in oven on cookie sheet to dry out bread.
In a large skillet, melt butter and Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Add celery and onion; sauté until soft. Remove and combine with bread cubes, eggs, seasoning and broth.
Place in greased oven casserole dish (covered) and bake during the last hour of turkey time in oven. Remove cover the last 10 minutes of oven time.
