PEACHES WITH WINE
PESCHE al VINO

Watching adults enjoy this simplest of after-dinner delights makes me realize that "grown-up" desserts can be just as much fun as the sweet-sweet ice creams and cakes that children love.


            4 large fresh ripe peaches
            1 teaspoon sugar
            1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
            1 cup red wine*


Serves 4.

Peel, pit and cut the peaches into bite-size pieces. Sprinkle with sugar. Add the lemon juice and wine. Refrigerate before serving.

Variation:

Peel, cut in half/pit/marinate for 1 hour. Grill halves and serve.

*Suggestion: Bolla Merlot, the same wine you are drinking with dinner!
