My local celebrity friend Jack Harris and his lovely wife Joy, wanted me to experience Café Ponte and we carved out our date from each others hectic schedule, and here we were. ...

The open kitchen lends to the excitement of this sophisticated want to be seen, go to buzz with consistent ever changing menu.

Appetizers: Pizzas @ $7 to $17.

Main Courses: $18 to $34

Some Great Appetizers:

Wild Mushroom Bisque @ $7 – a must taste.

Fig Prosciuto Flatbread @ $9 – Oh boy, have your cocktails while nibbling.

Entrees:

Diver Scallops with short rib sauce, corn polenta in a caramelized shallot sauce @ $28 per plate.

Bouillabaisse – fresh fish, shrimp, calamari, scallops, garlic aioli, Gruyere cheese. Yes, yes, get one even for the table @ $26.

Steak au Poivre @ $28 per plate. Joy ordered this fantastic piece of meat and devoured it and all accompaniments (after we all enjoyed a bite).

Café Ponte offers a great wine menu and its handsome bar/lounge shakes up some fantastic drinks.

The present location may be off the main drag, but worth the tour.

And, yes, desserts are all memorable and worth the calories.
